I've been promoting Skillet a lot recentely, and I just can't get over how cool this widget is.

I'm on a lot of street teams, and I do a lot of promoting, both online and on the streets. But anyway. This is by far the best widget I've seen from a band; it has the most features of any I've ever promoted with.
I was wondering what other fans opinions of it are?

Selling Autograhed Skillet Merchandise

Hey guys, I've got a few really cool Skillet things I am selling.
1.) The DVD/CD Comatose Comes Alive(which I payed 15 dollars for. It's only been watched/listened to once).
2.) A pair of Skillet 'Comatose Comes Alive' drumsticks from the recording of the live DVD/CD by the same name. They're brand new and have never been used before. They've been sitting on my dresser for months now, and I'm really not doing anything with them. I'm in need of some extra cash right now, so I have decided to sell them. Unfortunate for me, but very fortunate for you. :D
3.) A Comatose Tour 2008 All Access Backstage Pass AUTOGRAPHED BY THE BAND. The pass is void, but it has the bands signatures on it. :D
I was wondering if I put them on ebay, would any of you be interested in buying them? I'd give you the link to the auction as soon as it was put up. If we come to an agreement on a price before the auction, I'll make it a 'buy it now price'. :) I'll even be sure that you are online and ready to buy them as soon as the auction is put up so as to not risk anyone stealing them out from underneath you.
If I don't come to an agreement over price with one person, I'll just let you all battle it out on ebay. ;)

I'm including pictures. You'll be able to view one here, and the rest are under the cut.

The Last Night....

(I'm new)
I absolutely love the lyrics to The Last Night!!!
Sure it doesn't absolutely fit the description of my life, I have been a believer in Christ since I was baptized as a baby, but the message is just something I love to hear.
"I'll wrap you in my arms and I won't let go"
I find those lyrics so true and amazing. God is there and he'll protect us and guide us and love us more than anyone else no matter who we are, what we've done, or where we've been. Because of His Son's death and ressurection which cleans and washes us God loves us and forgets everything else. We're pure in his sight now.
God reaches out to us and if our hearts are open we reach for him. I think it's just an amazing concept that God reaches out first and loves us unconditionally as long as we don't turn away and lose our faith.
Thank-you for letting me share my faith with you!

GUYSGUYSGUYS.

I was listening to New Release Tuesday's podcast and according to them, Skillet has an album planned for 2009! I don't know the title. I don't know anything about the songs. All I know is new album = next year. Anybody gets any more info, please let the fandom know.

Also annoused on NRT, Skillet just released a live CD. While live stuff usually gets me skeptical, the samples on the podcast sounded pretty sweet.

I'm slightly disappointed there isn't more activity in this group...well anyway I will post an intro.

I've been a fan of Skillet for a little over nine years now. Saw them in concernt back in 2001, met most of the band. Korey was pregnant with the first baby and she wasn't there. John was awesome. I drew him a picture in honor of the new baby, he loved it.

I own five of their albums. Skillet, Hey you I love your soul, Invincible, Alien Youth and Ardent Worship (All have been signed by John).  I do enjoy their new work but I will not buy any of the newer albums only because I prefer their older work.

I bought several of their clothing items on their (no longer running) clothing site. (I believe it was called invinciblewear.)

Despite my difference of opinion as far as religion goes, I do greatly enjoy their music and have great respect for them as artists.

How about we start updating this group, huh?

Hey everyone,

I see that this community doesn't get updated too often, huh? Ah well. I was looking for a Skillet community on LJ and this is the closest thing to one. :-)

Anyway, my name's Nate. I'm a 24-year old guy from the town of Lockport, New York. And I think Skillet is one of the most incredible bands I have ever listened to, Christian or otherwise. Forget what everyone says about them being a "youth"-oriented band...in a handful of years I'll be 30, and if these guys continue to pump out the awesome music that they have so far, I'll still be a fan even then.

So far, Comatose is the only CD of theirs I have so far, and as much as I love it I'm looking forward to picking up their other material. To those of you who say that these songs aren't "Christian" enough, listen to the lyrics a little harder. No, there isn't too much mention of Christ directly, but the way I look at it they're doing the same thing that Kutless did with their last studio album, Hearts of the Innocent. They're making the message a bit more accessible to others who may be going through some tough times and are seeking a way out. I've always felt that before nonbelievers are willing to embrace our faith, they need to be embraced by our love and support. They need to know that we aren't merely trying to win converts but rather that we sincerely care about them and want them to make a change in their lives for the better.

Okay, enough of my rambling, lol. Just one more thing in case anyone doesn't know: Skillet are releasing a Deluxe Edition of Comatose available for purchase on their website. It isn't slated to come out until 12/26, but if you pre-order it and choose the "Guaranteed Christmas Delivery" shipping option you'll get it before then. I got my copy today and it's everything you've come to love about Comatose plus more. It includes...

-All 11 original Comatose tracks plus six bonus songs: A new studio track called "Live Free or Let Me Die" (amazing song, btw) and acoustic versions of "Rebirthing," "Yours To Hold," "The Older I Get," "Whispers In The Dark," and "Say Goodbye," all of which sound incredible.
-A sleeve with new front and back cover art for the album.
-Access to a free cell phone ringtone and wallpaper
-And a DVD featuring the videos for "Rebirthing," "Whispers In The Dark," and "Looking for Angels," plus a behind-the-scenes segment. (I personally would've liked to see the video for "The Older I Get" also on there, but that's a minor quibble.)

Well worth the money if you ask me.

Merry Christmas fellow Skillet fans! Hopefully some more interest in this community can be sparked.

--Nate

EDIT: I just now noticed that the "Behind The Scenes" segment on the bonus DVD actually IS the video for "The Older I Get." Or at the very least it's the one that I saw on one of the Music OnDemand channels on digital cable. Perhaps there's another?
